Cinema is a tunnel to an alternative happening. In and through a dark auditorium we are swept away to experience a scene taking place in another place and time, defying Einstein’s laws of the fabric of time and space. Anything is possible in cinema! Cinema is also a hatch, through which we can take a pick at the inner world of the director and his culture.

The Festival will bring contemporary and classic Jewish and Israeli films to the audience of Beijing and Shanghai, the Jewish community and the general Chinese public alike. We aspire to portray Jewish life in different corners of the world and especially greater China.

We hope this festival will be a celebration of films and creation and of Jewish heritage, culture and life. We wish it to strengthen a sense of community and identity of our Jewish audience but also to serve as a meeting point of different cultures and people, were friendships are born and grow. We further strive to cultivate original creation and facilitate cultural exchange between the two old and glorious cultures, the Chinese and the Jewish.

 电影，是一条隧道，以一种妙不可言的方式，引领我们发现生活的另一种可能。在漆黑一片的放映厅内，爱因斯坦的物理法则不再奏效，取而代之的是一颗随电影而自由驰骋的心。电影，又是一扇窗口，以一种无与伦比的方式，带领我们触摸他人的内心世界。在跌宕起伏的影片中，我们捕捉到的不仅是主人公的喜怒哀乐，还有导演的独具匠心以及无所不在的文化情愫。

 本届犹太电影节将在北京和上海两地展映一系列以色列电影，包括深受好评的新近影片和历经时间考验的经典之作，希望和朋友们一起分享犹太人在世界各地尤其是在中国的生活缩影。

 我们真诚地希望，本届电影节能够成为一次全方位展示犹太文化的视觉盛宴。同时，我们也由衷地盼望，通过这种文化交流，犹太观众们能够增强社区感和认同感，中国观众们能够更好地了解犹太文明。最后，祝愿本届电影节能够为原创电影的发展构筑平台，为中国与犹太这两大光辉古老文明的碰撞与交流搭建桥梁。
